27/9/21 + 28/9/21 - Rehersals for ‘The Witches’

                              Rehearsals 

Today we did our first proper start to rehearsal for the witches show. We briefly blocked some of the main scenes. We started by getting into character. We did this by lying down and imagining all of our body slowly becoming the character from bottom to top, what they wear then we got up and did how they’d walk where they’ve been and where they’re going just in our heads walking around the room. Then we paired up with someone and told them a lot of facts that we’d made up for our character and then tell the class. This helped us give the characters a back story and a personality. Then we set up our scenes and kept running them through with different changes until we were happy. 

Today is the next day and we rehearsed again, working hard for our show in 3 weeks. We ran through the scenes that we learned yesterday with a mix of first and second cast. We did this with just year ones + one year Two. We also learnt tips and tricks of how to learn lines.  One trick which was very useful was a method where you remember a line by attaching a certain movement or emotion to it. Another trick is working with friends and doing different scenes over and over again for a short amount of time (around 30 mins) to keep the scenes fresh and locked in your mind. Today was very insightful and I’m looking forward to working on the show again :)
