29/9/21 - LAMDA Workshop
Workshop
Today, all of us acting students had a workshop with two graduates of the LAMDA drama school. We met with Millie and Stewart and they taught us all about auditions. We started by taking off our shoes and finding a space. Then we just relaxed our whole bodies and let everything go to relieve tension. We learned a few tricks to get into character and to create our scenes. One tip was to go through the script and underline you’re characters facts. Just underline everything in the scene that is a fact about your character. Then you have to take that and use it as the base if you’re scene. We were taught to view that as the trunk of a tree, then everything else you want to add is just the leaves, the decoration on top. Doing this can completely change a scene and make the difference between playing the character and being the character.
