Filming Wrath (short horror ) 4/10/21 + 6/10/21
Filming a short movie
About a week ago the 2nd year film and tv students put out their casting calls. On Thursday I audition for Adrian Everest’s short horror called ‘wrath’ each short movie is based of the seven deadly sins because there’s only seven students. The short movie is about a man with a man with a very bad temper lashing out and killing his girlfriend. I was very intrigued by the synopsis so I messaged Adrian and told him I wanted to audition. I filmed a self tape and sent it off to him and he later text me to say I’d gotten the part. 3 days later we were filming it. We met and drove to our shooting location which was a premier in about five minutes away. Adrian brought Hollie who is another film and tv student so she could also input her ideas. We set up the cameras and did a master shot which is a shot of the whole scene and then did different shots focusing on different movements. Then Ethan (John) had to go back to college so the makeup artists could make it look like he had veins popping out of his head. Whilst he was gone me and Adrian filmed some shots that didn’t need Ethan in. Then when Ethan got back we filmed some conversation shots focusing on Ethan then me. Now we’ve filmed all we need in the hotel and we’re going to film the ending tomorrow at college in the Lift.
Today is the second and last day of shooting. We filmed the final scenes of the short movie in the lift. Charley ( my character) had to run into a lift to get away from John ( Ethan ) and then when she got to the bottom of the lift she was trapped in by John. It was really fun to play this terrified character because it was challenging and fun at the same time. We had to set up all the different shots and film them all a few times to get the best angles. It’s really exiting to film. However, you do also feel worried after that you didn’t do it the best you could’ve because you know that the tv and film students are getting graded on it. You also want to try you’re best to bring their visions to life you you have to be dedicated to the character and follow their direction. Overall it was a great experience and I’d love to work with this team again.
