Roald Dahl used to make up bedtime stories for his children which he turned into published books. In. Fact, he didn’t publish his Matilda till 1989 when his fourth grandchild was born. Roald Dahl had been married twice. He was married to Patricia Neal the American actress from 1953-1983 and had all five of his children with her. Then after he divorced with Patricia he married the British film producer, Felicity d’Abreu Crosland from 1983-1990 when he passed away. When  the writing sensation died, he left behind 500 worlds that he created. One of them being the commonly used word ‘scrumdiddlyumptious’ which means something is extremely delicious.
