Copycat - Evaluation
EVALUATION
OCTOBER 2021
MY THOUGHTS ON THE FINISHED RESULT
TWILIGHT – GOLDEN EYES
When I first watched the copy cat scene I was very pleased with the final result. I was really really impressed with the editing that Casey did, with the blue tint and the accurate camera angles along with the music that came on in the background. It all looked very professional. I really liked how the film and scene name came up at the very start because that majorly added to it professionally. We filmed each scene shot by shot which was perfectly fine and straight forward. Although, I think shooting the whole thing from different angles a few times would be more like how they’d do it on a real set. It took around an hour to film and I think that was a good amount of time to spend on it it wasn’t rushed and it wasn’t dwelled on so I think that was good from all of us. I think as the actors we should’ve rehearsed the American accents together a bit more just so we could helped each other because there was a bit of going in and out of the accent and it takes some of the accuracy away. Though, I know that none of us have ever really filmed anything before and have never had to do an American accent for anything before so none of us were going to be perfect. From filming the copy cat scene I learned a different way of filming. I’ve never filmed shot by shot before and I didn’t know that’s how some filmmakers chose to shoot everything. I was also taught to always act until the director says cut because you don’t want to ruin any footage that they might want to use. Even if I think the scenes going bad or it’s finished, just keep acting because they might want to use parts of it and you don’t want to be breaking character before the scenes over. A challenge that I faced whilst preparing to film the copycat scene was trying to get all of Bella’s mannerisms correct. She’s a very unique character and she has certain characteristics she’s famous for and I didn’t want to botch it up. I annotated my script full of different movements and faces she makes. It was tricky trying trying to remember and portray each thing she did but I think you can tell the character I’m playing. I think for our first film project we did good. I loved everyone I was working with and I believe our copycat scene is accurately duplicated.
