It's All About The Design- Remote

Now we have to take pert in more of the production parts of the industry. there was a choice between Marketing, set design, costume, props and lighting. I thought that marketing would be where I could do my best and help the show. 

 At the beginning of the remote project I teamed up with La Toya, Kadie, Courtney and Morgan. Our jobs were to advertise remote on social media and to start of we made a list of things to post on Instagram.

-behind the scenes

-countdowns

-updates

-cast pictures

-videos

-TikTok's 

-reels

-A day in the life videos

-ticket sales

-team pictures

-character introductions

-regular updates

however when we started there was a lot of problems with social media throughout APTA. So we had to make a whole new Instagram account for the acting course. And we were only allowed to post from Kelly's phone which was really inconvenient because when we'd get home and think to post we couldn't. that's why when we actually had a chance to use Kelly's phone i went around and took pictures then me Kadie and La Toya made a few drafts for Kelly to post throughout the week. then our problem was the APTA account that we used to post from had over a thousand followers and the new account that we had to make had like 20, and that was all of us actors haha so that was a problem because no matter what you post if you have no followers for anyone to see it it becomes pointless. so we went through and followed a lot of accounts that follow the original APTA page and a lot of them followed us back so we gained around 155 followers overnight which was really exciting.

Another thing we did was try to find hashtags that would get us on the page where people can see what we post to advertise our shows and our course.

i think we definitely could've posted more and should have posted more but it was just that we kept forgetting until we got home and then we couldn't do it again so if i were to do it again, id make sure that we were using the teams group more to write captions then we could've been posting all throughout the week. 

the goal of marketing is to bring attention to the play and course in a way that it reaches more people that we wouldn't be able to get the attention of without it. We want to show the best of acting because most people think APTA and their mind goes the the musical theatre course and when I was looking for a college to go to I didn't want that I wanted just acting, which is what we have and its quite hidden, especially since the main APTA page doesn't really post our course, actually they've deleted all our posts so something we need to do is expand out reach on people. we need to make more connections for better opportunities.
