     Remote – Character Development

 

Name: Cindy Appleton   Her friends and family call her Candy because she used to hate her name and she thinks Candy is cooler.	Occupation: She went to college to do hair and beauty like her mam, sisters and aunts but she got pregnant at 18 so dropped out and got a job at her families salon, she works there 3-4 days a week.
Age- 19	Intelligence- she never focused in school, she cared more about going out with her friends which her mam was fine with because she knew she wanted to work in the salon with her anyway.
Gender  – female	Knowledge – Shes still young so is learning more everyday. She has been getting taught by all the girls at the salon how to do hair and nails but shes only been working there for 4 months so she cant dye customers hair yet. Shes also been learning how to be a good mother to her baby Daisy who’s 10 months old. She does leave her with her mam some weekends when she wants to go out but she does really love and care for her baby and she values being a mam.
Mannerisms – she’s very calm and relaxed. She’s expressive with her face. She’s always fixing her hair and plays with her jewellery. She's always moving the pram back and forth and fixing her babies blankets.	Personality – she is really chilled a lot of the time, well except from when she's out with her friends. She’s a gossip who likes to sit and observe people. All her friends and family love her. she acts like everyone’s best friend. She sometimes speaks without thinking.
Clothes – She dresses really relaxed in just jeans and joggy bottoms most the time, but other times, when she's going out with her friends she likes to wear mini dresses and wear high heels.	Temperament – She’s very laid back most the time and doesn’t really get herself into arguments. If she has to stick up for herself or her friends she will but otherwise she’ll just watch and doesn’t really care.
Grooming – C has always got her acrylics done and her hair freshly dyed. She really puts effort into her looks when she goes out but when she’s just chilling she dresses casual. She's always clean and so is her child, she's always dressed in cute little outfits.	likes/dislikes – likes: going out with her friends and having a fun, care free time. She also likes spending lots of time with her baby daughter. She loves spending time with her family, they’re kind of like the Kardashian, they’re all so close and work together. Dislikes: She dislikes her father. She’s never really known him but her mam doesn’t like him so she copies her mam.
Movement – she doesn’t really have much urgency with what she's doing, she’s very calm and doesn’t really rush around unless she has too. So she's quite slow.	Beliefs –  she believes in karma and what goes around comes around. She's still only a teenager so she isn’t that wise yet. But it gives her peace to know what you put out is what you get back.
style of speech –   she speaks quite clearly, she’s got a casual speech style. She has a Hartlepool accent but with good diction.	Fears –  One fear of Cindy’s is fake looking cosmetic surgery. She Gets her lips done every few months and so far they look pretty natural but some of her friends have had it done and it looks fake, she is scared of that happening to her.
Anything else –	Goals – right now she doesn’t really have many goals but she is hoping she can start dying peoples hair soon because you get more money for that. She also want’s to have three more kids so Daisy can be like her and her sisters.
	self – image – she’s confident and loves getting herself dolled up when she’s out with her friends. She has always liked how she looks because she’s never really cared about what anyone else thinks she only cares about what she wants.
THE CHARACTERS ‘WORLD’
Relationships with friends colleagues, lovers etc (DO they have friends? Are they married. Dating etc)  -	Cindy is best friends with her mom and her two aunts and her three sisters which she is the youngest of. She has a lot of friends because she was popular in school. She wasn’t that close to Chantelle who came and sat on the bench with her but she did used to gossip with her back in school. However, her and Connor (Justin) are best friends since primary school, they’ve always been close and have grew up together. They really relate because they’ve both got kids as a teenager.
Ethnicity  & cultural background – (class, education, where they were brought up) -	Cindy was born in Hartlepool and went to a normal public school there. She doesn’t get bad grades but she doesn’t get really good grades she has average grades. She is fully English. Her family isn’t rich but they’re more than comfortable because of her families salon.
Their general history –( what time have they been brought up in)	She was born in 2002 so she was a 2000’s girl. She is still young now so she’s still changing her style and interests with the recent trends.
Personal history – (significant events in the character’s life their personal ‘backstory’	Her mam and dad had split up before she was born, they were together for two years but her mam wanted to keep a baby and he didn’t because he already had other kids with another woman and he didn’t want more. Her sisters all have the same dad except her and they got to see their dad all the time and that really affected her and pushed her to drink and find that love in boyfriends since she was young. That’s how she ended up having Daisy. However now her and Daisy’s dad have split up. They broke up before she knew she was pregnant but then when she told him he said he wanted to be involved. At the time when Daisy was born he was really involved but he and Cindy are on and off so when they’re split up he distances himself from Daisy too. She wants them to settle whether they’re going to be together of not because she doesn’t want it to negatively effect Daisy.

fCindy is a 19 year old mother of her 10 month old baby Daisy. She’s in a complicated relationship with Dai’s father and she's worried it will negatively effect her kid in the future. She still lives with her mam and one of her sisters Natasha. She works so that she has money to pay rent in her house and so she can provide for her and Daisy. She hangs out with her best friend Connor all the time and they always go to parties together or just chill at home because he’s got a baby too that he adopted from his sister. Her other best friends are called Stacey and Kim are really close to her but she hangs out with Connor way more.
